Ozlem Arat

Graduate Student

arat@email.unc.edu

I have obtained a bachelors degree in biology and a minor in chemistry from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey. In fall 2007, I entered the PhD program in the Biochemistry and Biophysics Department at UNC Chapel Hill. My interest area is how cells bypass the cellular crisis and divide indefinitely. My research focuses on the characterization of shelterin components and understanding the mechanism of telomere maintenance with telomere circles (t-circles) in Alternative Lengthening of Telomeres.
