What I Know About Poetry
for William Carlos Williams & Jonathan Williams
Bindweed grabs
the cornstalk not
to strangle
but
to blossom.
Honeysuckle trips
the walker
so he
falls.
Thus:
to smell the sweet
flowers
near
the intelligent
lowly
ground.
From Visions of Dame Kind, 1995, The Jargon Society.
