Hi, I’m Jeff, and welcome to my website!
I am a PhD student in Ecology at the University of North Carolina– Chapel Hill. I work in the lab group of Dr. Martin Doyle, although he is now at Duke. So it goes…
I consider myself to be an ecosystem ecologist in the sense of Tansley’s classic definition of the term; that is, I am interested in the interplay of organisms and their environment, particularly as it relates to stream geomorphology and hydrology. However, in common parlance I generally refer to myself as a stream ecologist, river systems scientist, macroinvertebrate community ecologist, or even just “bug guy.” |
