I'm half
Spanish and half Italian and I was born in 1981 in the state of New Jersey,
but I've grown up in North Carolina since I was a baby. Ocean
Isle Beach was my home for 17 years before I began attending UNC-CH, and
I have to say I have mixed feelings about the area. Ocean Isle is a wonderful
place to relax for a weekend, play some golf, and/or go fishing, but living
there has its down sides for a young adult. Sure its the beach, but what else
is there to do in Ocean Isle Beach? Nothing. This is why watching turtles is
listed on the "to do" list for the area. Not that I have anything
against the endangered loggerhead, but those of us in our pre-retirement years
are looking for a little more excitement. For visitors, the boredom is what
makes the Carolina coast heaven, but for quite a few long-time residents, it
gives us that "too much sand in your shorts" kind of feeling.

If you're ever in the area your best bet lies in Wilmington,
NC or Myrtle Beach, SC
Now it's time
for the good stuff. About me. I'm a junior in the school of Journalism and Mass
Communication at UNC and I'm loving every second of it. UNC is a terrific school
if you're looking to major in anything liberal arts, business, pre-med, pharmacy
and plenty of other areas.
If you're looking for a career in engineering of any kind, or the sciences -
go see these guys.
They're no
UNC, but they're good guys... when we're not on the playing field.
Sports are
a huge part of my life and, other than video games, is the only thing that has
held my interest year after year after year.
Baseball is my premiere interest, but football isn't too far behind. I love
to watch practically anything sports - except for your more boring extremes
such as golf and fishing.

I've attended
only a few sporting events in person, unfortunately, but the most fun I've
had at any game thus far was in Raleigh when I saw the Carolina Hurricanes
play the Philadelphia Flyers. Hurricanes games, and hockey games in general
provide a sort of intimacy that other sporting events lack. I can't quite
put my finger on it, but I'm like a kid in a candy store when I see the 'Canes.
And also, like I mentioned earlier, I'm a video game fanatic too. At the time being I'm absolutely plastered to my computer screen playing Unreal Tournament 2003, or Age of Mythology, unless I'm slamming buttons on my PlayStation 2 and yelling at John Madden on Madden 2003. Sure, I'm a computer geek sometime (meeeeh!) but I spend a lot of time studying, working on my latest journalism projects, or keeping up with friends. Check out my "links" section for my favorite video game and other websites.
