Hongjun Jia, Ph.D.

About me

I am currently working as a Post-doc research fellow in IDEAgroup within Biomedical Research Imaging Center (BRIC), a multi-disciplinary research center at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH) supervised by Dr. Dinggang Shen.

I graduated with a Ph.D. degree from the Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Ohio State University in 2009. My advisor is Aleix M. Martinez, the founder and director of Computational Biology & Cognitive Science Lab. I received the BE and ME degrees with honors from the Department of Electronic Engineering at Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 2001 and 2004, respectively.

My research interests are in the field of medical image analysis, computer vision and machine learning. I am also working on image and video processing and video coding.
