about me

Fishing in Atlantic Beach.

My name is Juliana Lee Allen and I'm a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I'm studying public relations in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication and hope to work for a public relations firm upon graduation.

I grew up in Greensboro, N.C., with my parents and older brother Jason and attended Ragsdale High School. Throughout high school, I played tennis and volleyball, and swam and danced, mostly modern, ballet and pointe. I traveled abroad for two summers, once to Europe and once to Australia and New Zealand, and attended North Carolina Governor's School for modern dance during another.

Throughout college I have been involved in a variety of activities. For four years, I have been a member of UNC-CH's dance company, Modernextension, and Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority. I have participated in several volunteer activities including the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, Habitat for Humanity, Dance Marathon and helping at the Carolina House. The summers after my freshman and sophomore years I worked on Martha's Vineyard and after my junior year I interned for Regan Communication's Group in Boston. Fall semester of my junior year I studied abroad in Florence, Italy, which was one of my best experiences of college.

Besides traveling and playing sports I like to fish, read and hang out with my friends. I grew up going fishing in the Outer Banks and Florida Keys and one of my favorite books is The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd. I have fun hanging out with my friends no matter what we're doing!
