The soundproof booth
The soundproof booth is in the phonetics lab, in Dey 103 (basement of Dey Hall).
To use the soundproof booth, please follow these steps:
- Sign up online to reserve Dey 103
- Sign out the key to Dey 103
I. Sign up online to reserve Dey 103
- How to reserve the room:
- Go to this GoogleDocs document (will open in new window).
- Click on "Edit this page (if you have permission)"
- Another new window opens. Now you have editing privileges.
- Pick a date. Please enter your name and the time to be reserved.
- Days shown in grey are days when the Media Lab is closed. If you are a LING 520 student and you need to use the soundproof booth on one of these days, please contact Jen to make alternative arrangements for accessing a key.
- Please also note:
- If you schedule a time and then change your mind, please take it off the calendar.
II. Sign out the key to Dey 103
(Please let Jen Smith or Elliott Moreton know if you have any problems signing out the key.)
- Key sign-out procedure:
- Go to Dey 109, the Media Lab, down the hall from Dey 103.
- Their hours of operation are 8:00 am - 8:00 pm M-Th and 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Fri.
- Ask to sign out the key for Dey 103. You will need to turn in your OneCard to do this.
- Please do not ask the Media Lab staff about anything other than signing out the key. They are not responsible for scheduling the room (use the online calendar!), fixing your equipment, etc.
- Once you have finished using the soundproof booth, please make sure the door to the room is locked and return the key.
- Go to Dey 109, the Media Lab, down the hall from Dey 103.
- Alternatives: (Ling 520/Fall 2010 only)
- If you need to use the soundproof booth during hours when the key sign-out is not available, talk to Jen about borrowing a backup key.
