Purpose:

This website was created by students at UNC-Chapel Hill as a project for Physics 24 (General Physics). The website should give insight into the physics of car racing with an emphasis on NASCAR. Car racing is a good example of how physics can be applied to "real world" situations. Knowing the physics of car racing is a useful tool for racers and coaches. Also, practice problems involving car racing can help students learn physics concepts including equations of kinematics, collisions, and banked curves.
