Julia, Andrea, and Anne are Natasha, an all-female band in high school. Borrowing instruments from their school, writing their own songs, and distributing their music dubbed over cheap cassette tapes from thrift stores, this DIY band went on to open for the Butchies and Roxotica. Inspired by their simple arrangements, clever lyrics copied from class lectures, and massive following, I contacted the band in March. I asked if I could make them answer lots of questions about music, high school, feminism, and sexuality. They graciously took me up on my offer and, with the help of Jason Middleton, the summer was spent filling DAT tapes and rolls of super 8 with their music, fans, and take on their time together on stage. 13 minutes, super 8, completed January 2005
