It is now day 3 of the new job.
I'm liking the place a lot so far. Helping instructors find new ways to incorporate IT is exactly my thing, so I couldn't be happier there. I'm thrilled to be in a small department full of folks with the same passion. Actually, I feel like I've got some catching up to do. These folks are good.
So the job is good. The commute, however, kind of sucks. It takes about an hour and a half each way. That puts my leaving-home-to-returning-home time in at 12-13 hours, which is hard on Grendel. I'm trying to come up with a way to alleviate this. Most practical idea so far: teach him to pee in the bath tub.
Charleston continues to be beautiful. Besides the cool colonial feel of downtown, I get a kick out riding across the bridge every morning and looking out at boats coming up from the harbor into the marina. Update: - or going out from the marina. Or just sitting there. That's what most of them do, just sit there.
