Course Description:

The topics covered in this course vary each semester depending on the individual
instructor. This course is designed for the non-science major and provides a
non-technical introduction to these basic topics. The objective of this course is
to introduce mathematical information which is more pertinent to the non-science major
and use this information to develop logical reasoning skills. This semester we will
work on chapters 5, 6, 9, 12 and 15, as time permits. This list of chapters is
subject to change.

Tests:

There will be two in-class tests on the following dates:
• Test 1: Monday, February 11, 2008.
• Test 2: Wednesday, March 26, 2008.
There will be no make up tests. Don't miss them!
Here is a list of suggested problems. They are from the
back of the section. You can expect homework problems and test problems to be
similar to these.

Only 8 people showed up to class on Friday. Those who showed up
did a worksheet for extra credit. For those who didn't show up,
it still might be a useful to study for the test. I have linked it here.

Homework:

All homework assignments will be posted here. Please print them
and do all work on the printout. Please bring completed assignments
to class on the due date. I do not accept late assignments.
Remember to write neatly, show all your work, and staple each assignment.
