Notes on photography:  Photos were taken with a Canon XTi (file #'s _MG_xxxx) and a Fuji F30 (file #'s  DSCFxxxx).  For all bird and animal photos, I used a Canon 70-300mm IS lens.  I also used a Better Beamer attachment on my Canon EX580 flash unit.  Most of the time I used a Manfrotto 676B monopod to provide support and to limit vibration.  A longer lens would have improved some of the photos, but there is a tradeoff.  My lens only weighs 1.3 lbs, and was relatively inexpensive.
