Some 40,000 Korean citizens tried to march to the US Embassy in Seoul on Saturday with lit candles to commemorate two high school girls who died in an accident involving a US Army vehicle.

Sgt. Mark Walker, the driver of the vehicle, and Sgt. Fernando Nino, the track commander, were both acquitted of all charges including manslaughter and negligence by US military courts.

The participants lit their candles at 6:00pm and marched toward the American Embassy in Gwanghwamun, where police barricades met them. Some 50 students jumped on top of police buses and 500 in the march tried to cross the barricades. However, most citizens at the site shouted "No Violence" and did not try to cross the barricades.
