My sister and I went to Chunan, which is where my grandparents on mother's side live. The trip was somewhat uneventful because I was supposed to go help them with their ¹ç (garden) but they left early in the morning before I got up. Blah. Oh well.

We also went to Daejon (which incidentally happens to be where I was born) and met with Sarah's family.

We picked up this honey-pasted-rice-cake thing on the street.

Everybody needs to take care of their feet

This is what old folks do with their spare time

¹ÙµÏ (Go) with my grandmother

It was some sort of Korean holiday this week so they had flags everywhere.

My sister, Sarah, and Sarah's friend Julie

We also met Sarah's brother Wonseok in Daejon. Their dad and my dad went to grad school at N.C. State together, so we knew each other back then. Perhaps a bit too well?

We took the KTX, the new high-speed rail system from Daejon back to Seoul

We passed by some sort of protest by the U.S. military base in Seoul on the way back from the station

That which we have ... that which they want
