Sofia 2006 is part of an international conference series hosted in Kansas City, Kansas (1995), Warsaw, Poland (1997), and Sofia, Bulgaria (2000, 2002, 2004, & 2006). The conferences are organized by Emporia State University, the University of Sofia, Seton Hall University, Saxion Hogeschool IJselland of the Netherlands, the National Library of Bulgaria, the U.S. Embassy in Bulgaria, and the Open Society Fund. This series is designed to explore the impact of globalization and change on the development of libraries, information infrastructure, and society.
