It's somewhat scary to see how obsessive my roommate and I have become over this movie. The obsession was, at first, a surprise to me because, when I went to see this movie at the theaters, I was a little apprehensive about what it was going to be like. Everyone has seen the reviews: you were either going to absolutely love it or absolutely hate it. Well, it's safe to say, I fall into the former group.
I really don't know what it is about this movie - its quirkiness?, the music?, the love story?...Ewan McGregor? Whatever it is, this movie just resonates with me. Jenny (my roomie, for any of you who don't know) and I have started listening to the music from the movie now almost every night, getting those hard-to-find songs that aren't even on the official soundtrack, and buying a poster for the room (we still have room on the walls...I swear). And, most importantly, we have both seen the movie numerous times...each time fuels the obsession even further. So, for all of these reasons, I have decided to designate "Moulin Rouge" as my Quasi-Monthly Obsession. FEBRUARY 2002
UPDATE (APRIL 2002): Though this is now officially a "past" obsession, I'm still very much obsessed with "Moulin Rouge." (In fact, I just saw the movie again just recently. Heehee. As well, me and the girls are planning on doing our own adaptation of the movie...I play Satine.) However, as I am also addicted to updating and changing my website, I felt the need for a new obsession...
