I am one of those people that completely agrees with the saying, "A picture is worth a thousand words." As such, I believe that photography has the power to truly influence and move people through the use of its evocative images. Here are a few photographs that I consider favorites. Enjoy.

Ansel Adams titled this picture "Jeffrey Pine, Sentinel Dome, 1940." I've always appreciated Ansel Adam's work, but this photograph is one of my favorites by him.
Our country's heroes salute all those who lost their lives with this unforgettable image of hope. This photograph continues to give me goosebumps to this day. (Taken by Thomas Franklin.) The ripples of the desert in this photograph give it such an amazing texture.
The first color photograph of the earthrise, taken by Apollo 8 astronaut William Anders on December 24, 1968. This photograph as well, seems to offer some degree of hope as it takes place in the otherwise hectic world of Grand Central Station.
"Cathedral" by Auguste Rodin. I saw this bronze at the Rodin exhibit at the NC Museum of Art a couple years ago and it intrigued me. Though not a photograph, I didn't feel like making another page devoted solely to sculptures. ;)
