Tool

The alternative progressive metal band
Tool have recently
begun promoting their new album entitled 10,000
Days which will be released on
May 2, 2006. Ever the innovators, they often
include various intellectual themes within their music and packaging.
Their
guitarist Adam Jones has recently become especially interested in
creating
stereoscopic images. Below are two images from his website adamjones.tv.
Several others will be included in the album’s booklet including the
two images
shown below. In order to view these images without a special viewer,
you need
to cross your eyes at a distance of about 2 feet. Three pictures should
appear,
but you should focus on the middle one which will reveal the illusion
of depth.
This can cause eye strain however, so you probably shouldn’t view them
for a
prolonged period. As my parents used to say, “If you keep
making that face,
it’s gonna stay that way!"

These
images can be found in the 10,000
Days album booklet.
