For the past year I have been fascinated by the family photograph. Much of the art that I create involves the everyday family snapshot and ideas of memory, history, desire, absence, and keepsake. I am forever obsessed with the old family photographs found in albums under beds and in battered boxes. In my honors exhibit, memory of mothers I explored loss and memory in photographs of my mother and my grandmother. Since I never knew my grandmother, I rediscovered her through various images, both found and created.

These are two entries from a book I made in the point of view of my grandmother about her sickness with breast cancer. The book consists of 7 pages and each page is about 12x12 with image and text.

A photograph I took in my apartment when I lived in Italy (8X11).
Self-portraits.
A photograph of my mum and I that I staged with a Holga toy camera.
