My grandmother anne's photograph. someone, most likely a child has scribbled all over it in blue ink. this is my most treasured photograph.Portfolio (and other things)

For the past year I have been fascinated by the family photograph. Much of the art that I create involves the everyday family snapshot and ideas of memory, history, desire, absence, and keepsake. I am forever obsessed with the old family photographs found in albums under beds and in battered boxes. In my honors exhibit, memory of mothers I explored loss and memory in photographs of my mother and my grandmother. Since I never knew my grandmother, I rediscovered her through various images, both found and created.
