Hill Highlights page 1

For the past year and a half, I have been an intern at The Hill Center, Inc., located in Durham, N.C. It is a K-12 school for children with learning disabilities and attention deficit disorder founded in 1977 by George Watts Hill. I work in the Development Office, which has the task of fundraising and other activities needed to improve and sustain the organization.

This is the Hill Center newsletter, Hill Highlights. For this issue, I wrote the article "Kirby Challenge Shows Support for Teachers" and the "Campus Notables."

This is the second page that I was involved in making. I designed the page and wrote the "Spotlight on Alumni" part. Click on the "Spotlight" part to get a larger view.

This is the presentation on US Airways that I did last semester in my PR case studies class. We had to follow a Fortune 500 company throughout the semester see how well it did in the stock market. Click on the picture to see the powerpoint presentation.

This semester, I have been taking Public Relations Writing. It is a lot like a newswriting class, so we have deadlines and follow AP stylebook rules. This is a link to the feature story that I wrote February 20, 2003. I'm proud of it because my Professor, Pat Curtin, told me that I have found my calling, to write feature stories! I have really enjoyed her class and definitely have learned a lot from her.
