THE EYE (Anne-Mette Bredahl
has overcome many obstacles in
her amazing life. She tackled blindness in her early 20s and
survived a
rare and potentially fatal illness in her 40s. She was the first
blind
person in Denmark to be trained as a clinical psychologist.
Never
having skied before she went blind, Anne-Mette became a
Paralympic gold
medalist for Denmark in the biathlon and in cross country
skiing. She
even won a competition when she was 6 months pregnant. After
just 10
weeks of training following a major illness and the birth of her
son,
she still qualified for the 2010 Paralympics in Vancouver, B.C.
Anne-Mette has excelled in life and sport. Her resilience and
perseverance are an inspiration to others, 2011).
