April 2002 Rant

the osbournes Wanna know what I think you should be doing at 10:30 on a tuesday night... well too bad, I am going to tell you anyway... Watch The Osbournes! I love this show, I am not sure if a more entertaining half hour of programming can be found on tv. What can I say... this stuff is so funny, I laugh my ass off every episode. Ozzy is absolutely unintelligible... partly because of his thick accent, but also because most of what he says is bleeped out. Like in the last ep. Sharon was showing Ozzy the stage effects he was going to use for his tour and he got pissed because bubbles were being used for part of it. He mumbled something to the effect of, "Bubbles... bubbles!?! I just can't have it Sharon, I am Ozzy Osbourne the prince of f-ing darkness! I can't f-ing have f-ing bubbles on stage! Evil, evil bubbles." Ha ha...

On a different note, I had a lot of fun this weekend. I got to go see Pat McGee (for the third time now... whooo) at a frat here in chapel hill. It was so awsome, I even got a chance to hear some of their new stuff, yay! I was also plesantly suprised by the opening band, Alabaster Suitcase. They were quite good and seemed totally down to earth and cool. Their website can be found here... you should definitely go check them out.

This weekend I also ended up watching another random movie staring Ewan McGregor (Jenny now rents one every week in order to satisfy her crazy obsession with the guy)... I forget what it was called, but it was really bad and I think I even slept through parts of it. Then later that night (around 12:30 am) Matt (who I like to call Ralph for no good reason) and Will, who both go to school at app, dropped in and asked if they could stay with us. We had fun, but none of us got much rest... it was one of those ha ha you need to sleep? Well too bad! sort of moments.

Not too much else is going on.. I think school is going to get really nuts over the next couple of weeks, but instead of trying to get ahead, I think I will just pretend like it doesn't exist until the day before it is all due. Now I realize this is probably not the most efficient course of action, but it keeps me from worrying all the time and lowers my strees level considerably (for now at least). I am sure I will have a few choice words to say about it when crunch time rolls around, until then... I will leave you with a bit of advice: be good, eat your veggies, and look both ways before crossing the street! April 8, 2002
