I came down with the most violent case of the flu I have had since I was about 3. I spent all of last week sleeping (and puking), much to the dismay of my roomate who was beginning to wonder if she would ever be able to turn on the lights again. I seem to be rocovering well although I have to say I was a bit loopy by the end of the whole thing. I wrote an interesting away message... and I figure why not share it with you now...
me: you know, I have felt like ass-booty for the past few days now...evil flu bug: haa haa I know... yay for the violent sickness I bestow upon the meek
me: hang on I wasn't finished, I was saying that I am starting to worry about all the stuff I have been missing in my classes, plus it doesn't seem like I am getting any better
flu: so?
me: so... don't people usually feel better after a few days?
flu: not if I have any say in the matter, pathetic human!
me: ok you have proven your point you are way stronger than me... now don't you think you could ease up a bit, maybe let me feel just a little better?
flu: MUAHAHAHAHAAAA NEVER!
As you can see I was not altogether sane... but hey, I made it through with little permanent scarring. Much to my amusement it iced on sunday night so not only did I not go to any classes last week (due to illness) I also got to stay home monday (because of the snow day). WHOO! Needless to say I am beginning to forget what courses I am even taking. Ehhh... second semester senior year... who the hell cares?
On a totally different note... when I was home a few weekends ago I found this fantastic show on bbc america called Coupling. It is the greatest thing ever... I have become so, so addicted and luckily I have my very own brit (Esther) to talk to about the show. We got so fanatical that she ended up ordering the first season on dvd and I have now watched all the episodes at least 4 times through. I swear they get funnier each time! I have to say my favorite character is Jeff... he is absolutely rediculous and says the most bizarre things like, "I love the word naked. It's brilliant isn't it? NAKED! When I was young I used to write the word naked hundreds of times on a bit of paper and then rub my face in it. It's better than sex!" Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! I love me the loonies. The show includes all sorts of other crazyness like looks obsessed Sally who once said, "Bottoms are our natural enemy... They follow us around our entire lives, right behind us, and constantly growing. How do they do that? I’m sure mine’s back there secretly snacking." Good stuff. If you want to check the show out you can look at the bbc's offical site. I hear there is going to be an americanized version of the show... but I am thinking that is a huge mistake. I guess I will just have to wait and see how it turns out.
Well, enough about Coupling... I am thinking it is time for bed (since tomorrow I have to go to classes again... damnit). Night! February 18, 2003
