| About Me |
| Who am I? |
| I'm a student in the Master of Arts in Teaching program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I'll graduate from the program in June with licensure to teach secondary social studies courses in North Carolina. I am also holding a position as Community Coordinator with the UNC Department of Housing. That means I am responsible for the Resident Assistants in Carmichael and Whitehead Residence Halls. |

In my life, I've been lucky to meet some incredible people. My oldest friends include Ericka, Charlie, and Curtis. The four of us grew up together, back in rural Rockbridge County, Virginia. We didn't have many diversions there, so we made our own fun. I am thankful to these wonderful friends who have stood by me for so many years now. In college, my circle of friends has grown tremendously. From the "Brat Pack" my freshman year to her current status as my "therapist," Sara has been through it all with me. She's an incredibly strong friend, the kind who tells you the truth even when it hurts, but also the kind of friend who would do anything for you. I am also lucky enough to be an alum of Phi Beta Chi, a social Christian sorority. Being a part of the Kappa Chapter at UNC has introduced me to so many amazing women! I am lucky to be able to count these ladies as friends. |

I am the oldest of six kids. There's my brother, Kevin, who graduated from high school last May. He's a redneck who drives a red pickup truck with huge tires and volunteers for the local fire department. Kevin lives with my mom in Virginia. The rest of my siblings, along with my dad and step mom, call Laurinburg, North Carolina, home. My oldest-younger sister, Courtney, is a freshman in high school. She's got all the boys, her age and older, chasing her. The twins, Tatum and Elizabeth, are in sixth grade this year. They are on a traveling soccer team and are already incredible players. The baby isn't really much of a baby anymore. Hal is seven and is a ball of energy. He loves all things boy, including Lowe's, trucks, and video games. |

My list of favorites is as wide and random as you can get. I love reading, and my favorite book is Boy Meets Girl by Josh Harris. I like to write, having filled over 15 journals already. I like clean white sheets, the color purple, file folders, the mountains, and unlined paper. I don't read the comics and I don't like okra. I love lilacs, gingham, my name, jeans and t-shirts, and mornings in bed. I love music of all kinds, and my favorite band has always been the Dave Matthews Band. But lately I listen to artists like Bebo Norman, Jennifer Knapp, Nichole Nordeman, and Third Day. I've become a movie collector, thanks to my wonderful former roomie Melody, and my favorites there include Empire Records and Hope Floats. I'm a big fan of cowboys, the sitcom Friends, colorful leaves in autumn, the questions game, and chick flicks. |
