webbing for news

  • BBC News Online
  • For less ethnocentric and more in depth news coverage than the United States versions. (Katy Couric has got above her raisin' I'd say.)

  • WRAL
  • Along with the Raleigh News and Observer, for when you want to know about the traffic, the State Fair schedule, or what shenanigans the NC legislature has been up to now.

  • Wilmington Star News
  • Well, like I said, I want to move to the beach, and it has to be a town big enough to support a university and/or public library. I've also been interested in their perspective on the report of the commission on the 1898 Wilmington Riots-an incident long overdue for recognition and recompense. Their writing style is also fun-not very stiff would be understating it; they make the N&O sound like the New York Times with regard to colloquialisms.

trolling for gossip

PerezHilton.com For when you just can't go another minute without an update on the antics of Paris, Brittney and Lindsay. (We are all just so over Nicole.) But it'll bring lots of spam attacks, so be forewarned.

I do check email.
