10/27/2000 - the balance affect is beginning a period of devaluation. that is, they are devaluing anything that anybody stands for. they have cancelled their studio time, are rearranging their bidness affairs, and starting to drink habitually. some may say, hey, the balance affect are arrogant and self-serving, but the balance affect just says, i'm better than you. that's alright, they know you love them. the balance affect is taking the months of november and december off with the exception of one show in november at the cave. during this month off they plan on nothing. 2001 will see the balance affect return by recording an album on their own terms.
10/17/2000 - richmond, virginia will see the balance affect record an album in january of 2001 at the sound of music studios. there will be lots of people there working on the album. they all love the balance affect, despite the balance affect's general disregard for anybody but the balance affect. sometimes the balance affect likes to shotgun beer. the winner usually gets to yell at everybody else and then burp in their faces. 10/4/200 -- young brian royster found the loch ness monster. if anyone wants the answer, then find out who young royster is and track him down. the balance affect doesn't really care about the loch ness monster or anybody who's interested in it. unless you're from scotland, and then the balance affect hates you. soon the balance affect will be playing in charlotte with hobex and jolene. there will be two sets for the balance affect. one to start the show and one to end it. there might be some more information about the show on this web page somewhere. the balance affect gets very bored with web pages as they are not techno dunces. what's a techno dunce? soon there will be a new the balance affect web page run by techno dunces. the new web page is rumored to not feature the balance affect referring to themselves in third person. flip dobble mccraniac, who's the next butter muncher? answer that correctly and the balance affect will let you be their fifth member. 9/4/2000 - there is a new contest involving the loch ness monster. check out the contests page. the balance affect is somewhat like the loch ness monster in that it is sneaky yet powerful. do not mess with the loch ness monster. also, do not mess with the balance affect. 8/31/2000 - for anybody who brings what the balance affect judges to be a substantial amount of support to the battle of the bands against weekend excursion and wavy train, free merchandise will become available. the battle of the bands is in some place in charlotte called the noda arts district. the balance affect thinks this reminds them of "no duh, battle of the bands are childish", but then again so is the balance affect. according to melissa there is a website for the no duh battle arena at www.neighborhoodtheatre.com. thursday will bring ode to abbey to chapel hill to play with the balance affect at the local 506. everyone is getting all worked up about it. bring money, cause there will be compact disks for sale. 8/15/2000 - he's not here. linda's. double door. been der. done dat. whatever. next. charlotte is excited about being rocked by the balance affect with its new four headed lineup. the balance affect has never heard of misty mountain, but it sounds like there could be some clowns there. they will stop their joking when the balance affect plays. last week the balance affect wanted to get rowdy, so they trashed their house, and they're ready to do it again. who are you people? 7/28/2000 - the balance affect will soon be a four-piece rock outfit. guitar player derek baird will join the band starting in august. the balance affect had a good time playing in charlotte at the double door recently, and extends thanks to all who showed support. the balance affect, who have recently developed an attitude, looks forward to showing all the fucks at linda's on tuesday what's up. the bar will be serving pitchers for $3.50. the balance affect will be serving rock for free. 6/26/2000 - the new website is up. Also, check out new MP3's on MP3.com. These are from our recording session in April. 6/24/2000 - the balance affect is getting very excited about playing He's Not Here on June 30. It will be their first show in Chapel Hill since early may. They have been playing out of town and are looking forward to returning. the balance affect has recently received news that they will be playing in a battle of the bands concert in charlotte called Fresh Tracks. The show will be in September (check the shows page for the date). They will be competing against two other bands (one of them is rumored to be weekend excursion). It should be a cakewalk for the band. Also, the balance affect is shifting its headquarters to a remote location (15 minutes west of Chapel Hill). They figured the new location would allow them to play rock music at even louder volumes and hold even bigger parties.
