color, the manuscripts are organized chronologically and are introduced with an
overview including the date, origin, extent, language, format, miniaturist,
illustrations, provenance, and facsimile. There is an extensive glossary, artist
biographies and bibliography. Provides an overview of manuscript illumination
creation in the West and outside
