"Somewhenelse"

the best of times - the worse of times

Once upon a time our nation fought for
it's very survival against total evil
- a "good war" fought by real men and real women
whose sacrifices made America triumphant.
But the "peace ever after" never came.
I find comfort in returning to those days -
back when tomorrow held such promise - back when we still believed in Truth, Justice, and The American Way.

There'll be blue birds over the white cliffs of Dover,
Tomorrow, just you wait and see
There'll be love and laughter and peace ever after,
Tomorrow, when the world is free.

The shepherd will tend his sheep
And the meadow will bloom again,
And Jimmy will go to sleep
In his own little room again.
There'll be bluebirds over the white cliffs of Dover,
Tomorrow, when the world is free.

There will be love and laughter and peace ever after,
Tomorrow, just you wait and see
There'll be bluebirds over the white cliffs of Dover,
Tomorrow, when the world is free.

We will always remember -
how they died for liberty,
Let's REMEMBER PEARL HARBOR
and go on to victory.

The sounds:

"Don't sit under the apple tree........."
"In the mood"
"Bugle Call"
Bless 'em all, bless 'em all
The long and the short and the tall,
Bless all the sergeants and corporals too
Bless all the privates and above all bless you
So we're saying good bye to them all
As back to the barracks we crawl,
There'll be no promotion this side of the ocean
So cheer up my lads bless 'em all.

A most interesting site on who did what back then.

Back to Landon's world.
