Hello and welcome to my web site. For those of you who don't already know, I created this site as a requirement for my J50 class (Electronic & Mass Communications). If you're looking at this right now, then you're probably either related to me or a good friend of mine. But on the rare chance that you accidentally stumbled upon my site and would like some insight into my scattered thoughts, read on.

My full name is Laura Celia Bernard. I hardly ever tell people my middle name, so feel privileged that I've shared that confidential information with you. In fact, my roommates Meredith, (mereallaire) Natalie (Nads)& I decided that if we were to go by our middle names, Celia, Allaire and Marie, that we probably wouldn't have many friends. Now that information probably won't have any effect on your life, but that's just a sampling of just how random I am.

Much to my chagrin and after pleading with my parents, I will unfortunately be graduating in May with a degree in Journalism & Mass Communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I decided to concentrate in advertising and let my passion for photography remain just that, a passion and a hobby. Wise choice. Nat & Mere can attest just how obsessed I am with advertising. Right now my only problem is deciding which career path within advertising to pursue.

After graduation in May, I'll be backpacking across Europe with two of my girls, Amber (Ambular) & Julie (Jules). Well, I must admit, the town of Chapel Hill and my friends here have won my heart, and I will temporarily remain a misplaced northerner. And yes, TT, I will be keeping all of my clothes down here.

Now that I've probably bored you with that brief synopsis of my life, let me continue boring you with a few of my favorites:

Books

The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison; Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling (don't laugh until you've read them)

Photographer
Dorothea Lange
Artist
Degas
Hobbies
Photography & running (yes, I was one of those weird kids who enjoyed running in circles in HS)
TV Shows
Friends; Saved by the Bell; Sex & the City
Movies
My Girl; American Beauty
Baseball Team
New York Yankees (born & bred baby)
Singers
Elton John & Billy Joel (the total influence of my older sisters)
Group
Coldplay (if you haven't heard their newest cd, Rush of Blood to the Head, you're missing out)
Place
The beach (preferably tropical or European though)
Food
Anything my mom makes, so basically all Italian food. There's nothing like the aroma of her kitchen... nothing. I also pretty much like anything with cheese---hmmm
Dessert
Grandma's apple pie
Links

(and I'm not voluntarily including this because Google is really my only favorite web site)

CNN
As a self-proclaimed nerd, I will admit that CNN is my home-page. I like keeping up to date with the world.
Again, a news site and I pretty much love everything having to do with New York. You can't refute the fact the NYT is the best newspaper in the country.
New York Times
J.CREW
After working at J.CREW for almost 3 years, I pretty much acquired about 1/3 of my wardrobe (I basically deposited my paycheck right back where it came from.) I also learned how to be a good salesperson during my time there, something I think will prove useful in my future in advertising. I still like to check out the site now and then.
Checking ESPN pretty much became a habit of mine after having a group of about 20 guy friends throughout high school and a good friend who made me watch basically every sport on TV and checked the web site on an hourly basis. I also love to see the shock on guys faces when I know what I'm talking about.
ESPN
college humor
My roommates introduced me to this wonderful site. It's hard to explain the hilarity contained within--if you ever have the time, check out this site, and especially check out Ruminations by Aaron Karo. He basically puts into words the random strange thoughts that go through most college kids' heads.
