Last
summer I got an internship with the North Carolina Association of Community
Newspapers, and I was placed with a small paper in Newland, NC. So I moved
up to the mountains and worked for The Avery Journal, the newspaper of
record for Avery County. The Avery Journal only recently went online,
but I have provided links to Word documents to display some of my work
from last summer. Here are just a few clips to represent my work for the
people of Avery County:
Features:
"At home in Plumtree: Part two in a series"
Thursday, August 2, 2001, Vol. 42, No. 2
"Tourists followed yellow brick road to Beech
in 70s"
Thursday, June 21, 2001; Vol. 41, No. 48
News:
"Training to tame the flame: Avery County
Airport plays host to helicopter firefighting seminar"
Wednesday, July 4, 2001, Vol. 41, No. 50
Column:
"In case you wondered who I was
"
Six More Weeks
Thursday, June 28, 2001; Vol.41, No. 49
