dddddTwo men robbed the Applebee's at 1508 E. Franklin
St. Wednesday night. There
were six employees in the
restaurant when the robbery occurred. No customers were
present, and no one was
injured.
dddddAccording
to Chapel Hill police spokeswoman Jane Cousins, an armed suspect
entered the restaurant
at 11 p.m., 30 minutes after it had closed. While grabbing an
employee to use as his
shield, he walked to the back of the restaurant and ordered the
five other employees get
down on the floor.

second suspect came into the restaurant, and the two men took $4,000 from the
cash register, three telephones,
a watch and $150 from the employees before forcing them
into a storage room.

are checking whether this incident is related to the Aug. 25 robbery
of a McDonald's at 1748
Fordham Blvd. in Chapel Hill in which two armed men forced some
employees to undress before
locking them in the freezer.
dddddThe
police have not released additional physical descriptions of the suspects;
however, the first suspect
was dressed in black attire consisting of a mesh mask, hooded
sweat shirt and mesh gloves.
