I spent my 2002 summer in Dijon, France studying Food and the Church in Medieval France through UNC's Burch Field Research Program. You can read about my really cool research on the Beguines, a female monestary that reached its high point during the thirteenth century. While in France, I rekindled my love of doodling! Two of my doodle projects turned into cards for two of my Moroccan friends, Rachid and Zaki. And check out this smart group! (Update: Sarah Laney died November 15, 2001 in a fatal car wreck... we miss you Sarah.) Kids Across America is an awesome Christian inner city sports kamp (yes, i meant it with a 'k!') near Bransen, Missouri. I worked there my 2001 summer, and I have been a campus representative since. Check out my KAA poster! The Semiotics of Coda--need I say more? This was a super boring paper written for a communications class describing the meanings created through imagery and dialogue in Moises Kaufman's play, Gross Indecency, an historical account of the trials and conviction of Oscar Wilde for homosexuality. Deep play, y'all, deep. And, of course, some family and friends pics...
