John Muir Trail from Vermilion Valley to Yosemite Valley
4 August to 12 August 2014

We took a ferry from Vermilion Valley  across Edison Lake to a trailhead that led to the John Muir Trail.  The lake was low, so the boat let us out over a mile from the normal trailhead.
Red Cones, the mark of a fire over 20 years ago.
Devil's Postpile; mammoth crystals.
Campsite on day five was just across from this lake
Donohue Pass
Donohue Pass is above the treeline
