Home, Home on the Web

Well, actually there's not much here! This site is still under a bit of construction, as I learn more JavaScript (which you'll want to turn on, by the way) and decide I can at least pretend like I have the time to update the files. I do have a bit more stuff at my non-academic homepage, if you're interested.

As the URL above may tell you, I'm a graduate student at UNC-Chapel Hill. I'm currently enjoying a long leave of absence, having finished the coursework for my Ph.D. I suspect I'll end up taking my exams and completing my dissertation remotely, largely because if I don't, my mother will kill me.

If you're hanging out at UNC, or are just interested in issues surrounding technology and education and the meeting of the two, check out the online journals The Technology Source and On the Horizon. Yeah, I used to be Assistant Editor on 'em, so I may be biased, but I think they're kind of interesting.

At the moment, I'm currently a technical writer/editor in Atlanta; in addition to editing, I also help to create and maintain Web pages, both at work and as a hobby. In my spare time (ha).

Of the things I do have up on the Web, this would be the most impressive:

Gawain in Wace, Layamon, and the Alliterative Morte Arthure: A Cultural Comparison
This was my thesis for the MA in Folklore at University of California, Berkeley. Only a portion of it has been html-ised so far, but please let me know what you think, especially if you enjoy it; it's always nice to meet a fellow spirit!

I'm a line, what's it look like?
