About Triangle Teen Nutrition
Triangle Teen Nutrition is a resource guide intended for adolescents aged 13-19 in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area of North Carolina, though many of the resources are suitable for teenagers in any location. The guide points towards reliable sources of nutrition information. Nutrition is broadly defined, and may include (but is not limited) to the following:
- Selecting healthy foods
- Preparing healthy meals/cookery
- Considerations for vegetarians/vegans
- Information on the "slow food" movement
- Careers in nutrition
Multiple formats of information are included in the guide, such as:
- Print (books, periodicals, monographs, flyers)
- Electronic (websites, games, web 2.0 applications)
In addition, subject headings to use when searching for nutrition information and areas to browse in libraries are suggested.
This website was originally made as a class project for INLS 461 in the UNC School of Information and Library Science. Questions or comments can be directed to Lisa Philpotts.
