Los Ladrónes.

Okay, so I should be writing a paper for my Spanish literature class right now. But oh well. I just have to update you guys on everything. Well, this happened last week, but I forgot to write about it.

Julia, Sasha, and I were walking home from school. I guess it was around 9 o'clock. We were walking down Buhaira, this avenue that has plenty of people on it. So, the following happened in probably 5 seconds.

We all hear a moped very close to us.

Me: (Thinking) Damn, that moped's going to hit Julia. (It drove really close to her).

And then the next thing we knew, the two people on the moped had Julia's purse and were zooming off across the sidewalk. And we just stood there. We didn't say anything. I think maybe I started laughing. I don't know. It was just so bizarre. I guess there's not really anything we could have done. They were on a moped and we were walking on the sidewalk.

So, we went into the nearest hotel and asked if we could use their phone, but the guy said no, so we went to a phone booth. And I called our director, Wayne, and Julia talked to him. And then Julia called her mom to cancel all her credit cards and what not. It was just so strange because they had told us about how petty theft was a problem, but I didn't really think that Julia would get robbed. Okay, I know that it's supposed to be, "I really did not think that I would get robbed." But I didn't get robbed, but I also did not think that Julia would. So, that is my story of last week.

Thanks.

Next time be more careful Lara, I think you guys should start wearing fanny packs and tape them down to your body. Haha! That will teach the devils.
