Germany is cold. I first visited Jenny during winter break of my Junior year of college. I was
there for about three weeks in December and January. As you know, Germany is not known for it's beautiful weather, as Chapel Hill
is. Little did I know of the real truth. German weather is colder and rainier and cloudier than you could ever imagine and it never ends. It's so wet and cold
that you can't even think. I'm from New Jersey where it gets fairly cold as well but nothing can compare to a German winter.
Of course the insanely cold weather stuck out in my head when I was thinking of what to write for this section, but actually Germany
is a pretty cool country. Jenny lives in Düsseldorf which is a really awesome city for going out at night. Ton's of beautiful
people, good beer, and techno music. The cons are: tight jeans(on guys), they don't let me into some clubs (for some reason), and
not everyone speaks good english. We traveled conservatively through Germany, but enough to get a good impression of the rest of
the country. It has a very old history, unlike America, which some people (like my parents) would probably appreciate a lot more
than me.
I returned in the following summer. For more info on summer '02 click the link on the left.
