Prerequisites:

  • The department requires Introductory Linear Algebra. In addition, some familiarity with ODE and PDE may be of use.

  • Required Texts:

  • Computational Science and Engineering by Gilbert Strang, Wellesley Cambridge Press (2007).

  • Grades will be based on weekly homework assignments (40%), a midterm exam (25%) and a final exam (35%).
  • Late homework assignments will not be accepted, though the two lowest homework scores from the semester will be dropped in the calculation of final grades.
