## Prerequisites:

Math 233 or equivalent.

## Required Texts:

W. Boyce and R. DiPrima. Elementary Differential Equations -
Custom Edition. Ninth Edition, John Wiley and Sons.

## Grading:

Grades will be based on weekly homework assignments (25%), two
midterm exams (20%) and one comprehensive final
exam (35%).
Late homework assignments will not be accepted, though the two lowest
homework scores from the semester will be dropped in the calculation
of final grades.

## Midterm Exams:

- The Midterm Exams will be 50 minutes long and scheduled in class
on October 1st and November 5th, 2010.
- Announcement: A review session for Midterm Exam 1 will be held
in Phillips Hall 383 from 5-7 PM on Thursday, September 30th for
anyone interested. This will be a question and answer session only,
so come prepared.
- A copy of Midterm I can be found here.
- Announcement: A review session for Midterm Exam 2 will be held
in Phillips Hall 301 from 4-5:30 PM on Thursday, November 4th for
anyone interested. This will be a question and answer session only,
so come prepared.
- To prepare for the midterm, beyond working through the examples
and problems in Sections 7-9 of our textbook, the first 15 exercises
from 5.3 are a nice review of systems of linear equations and linear
independence. Otherwise, there is an alternative approach to the
necessary linear algebra presented here
along with lots of practice problems.

## Final Exam

- The Final Exam will be comprehensive and will be held on
Saturday, December 11th, 2010.
- The Final Exam Review Session will be held from 3-6 PM on
Friday, December 11th, 2010 in Phillips Hall 367.
