Job Market Candidate 2007-2008

I am a Ph.D. candidate in the department of economics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  My areas of specialization include Labor Economics (J) and Economics of Education (I2).

My dissertation research is on the policy impact of increasing homework time on academic achievement among high school students, as well as the influence of labor market conditions and measures of school quality on students education decisions.  My job market paper is available here.  A summary of my reseach is available here.

My teaching experience includes two semesters as an independent instructor, two semesters as a head T.A. and one semester as a TA for Principles of Economics and intermediate microeconomics.  I have received two teaching awards and have served as the assistant for the economics department Teacher Training Program.   A summary of my teaching experience and awards is available here .  A statement of my teaching philosophy is available here .
