I have been an independent instructor for two indtroduction to economics classes. I work to help students apply economic concepts to a variety of public policy questions in this introductory class. A copy of his syllabus is available here . Because of my strong student and supervisor evaluations, I was chosen to help run the teacher training program for new graduate instructors in the UNC department of economics. In this position I helped organize sessions about test writing, class preparation, active learning strategies, and class discussions. I also videotaped and visited each instructors' classroom in order to provide constructive feedback on the instructors' teaching. I also have served as a teaching assistant for multiple sections of introduction to economics and applied microeconomics. As a TA I earned two teaching awards. The Vijay Bhagavan award was given for excellent student evaluations. The Ralph Byrns award was given for the performance of the students in my sections of an introduction to economics course. A summary of my teaching experience and evaluations is available here, more detailed summaries of teaching evaluations are available here , and my teaching philosophy is available here .
