There are now three options for the 3rd
paper and the Final Exam. You may pick one.
(1)
Leave everything as is: The 3rd paper will be due
November 30th (the last day of class), and the final will be on
December 8. The paper will be worth 25%, along with the 1st and 2nd
papers, which are also worth 25% each, and the final will be worth 20%.
See the
course syllabus for
further details.
(2)
Write the 3rd paper, drop the final exam: Since the 3rd
paper will be counted in lieu of the final, it will be due the same
date and time of the final--12noon on Dec. 8. The 1st and 2nd paper
will be worth 30% each, and the 3rd paper will be worth 35%.
(3)
Take the final exam, drop the 3rd paper: The final exam
will be worth 35% of your grade (and will be in short answer/long essay
format). The 1st and 2nd papers will be worth 30% each.
Some things to keep in mind:
- No matter which option you choose, if you write a paper, I will
be accepting rough drafts, but no re-writes (since there will not be
enough time in the semester).
- The paper topics will be the same whether you choose option (1)
or (2). However, keep in mind that if you go with option (2), the paper
will count as more and so I will be expecting a bit more, so give it
your all.
- There will be a study guide for the final exam (coming soon).
- You do not have to tell me which option you are taking. Just turn
in the paper whenever it is due (depending on which option you decide
on) or show up for the exam.
- Re-writes for ANY of
the papers are due November 30, the
last day of class.
- I will be in my office a ton these last few weeks of class. Feel
free to drop me a line to make an appointment or drop on by if you want
to go over any of the material.
