Education

I completed a Ph.D. at Michigan State University.  The central focus of my education and research was on elementary science teaching and learning. Prior to that I recieved a M.Ed. at the University of Central Oklahoma focusing on curriculum and science education.  My B.S. is in physics from East Central University.

My current position is as a Research Associate in the School of Education at University of North Carolina.  In this position I have been coordinating a program for lateral entry teachers, developing relationships with local science teachers, serving on committeess for School of Education initiatives, and teaching in the elementary education program at UNC.
