Stance

In service to elementary teachers I find it important to have a stance with respect to the involvement I have with those teachers.  My belief is that work with teachers is most effective when there is genuine collaboration between me and the teachers I work with.  Therefore this service involves listening to the needs that teacher express and responding to those needs. But it also anticipates that the teachers I work with will understand and value my needs as a scholar and educational researcher.  Furthermore, I believe that all participants in collaborative relationships stand to benefit; the teachers and students I work with and also myself.

Being new to North Carolina, I am building relationships with teachers regularly to activate this stance.  At this point, these new collaborations are unable to be represented.  This will change in the near future - so check back for updates.
