Course Handouts:

Guide to Solving Differential Equations:

These handouts are in .pdf format.  These can be viewed with Adobe Acrobat Reader (freeware available off the web).

These are meant as study guides and a supplement to the lecture notes.  They are not meant to be a replacement for lecture notes, as I will not be including everything that we cover... especially the more theorectical material.  These are largely from previous times I taught this course.

I do not like these notes as much as I once did.  I think that they encourage too much memorization which is not the intention.  A number of students have found them useful, so I am posting them anyway.

Please let me know if you notice any typos or mistakes in these... even if it is just a grammar mistake or a misspelled word.

First-order ODEs:
Linear using an integrating factor
Separable equations

Higher-order linear ODEs:
Homogeneous with constant coefficients
Method of Undetermined Coefficients
Variation of Parameters
Series Solutions Near an Ordinary Point
Euler Equations
First-Order Homogeneous Systems of Linear Equations with Constant Coefficients
