Biography and Pictures

 

 

Thanks for visiting my page, even if it was forced out of me for a class. My name is Margaret Frances Garofalo. It's usually Marge, Marg, or Margie to those that know me well. Pumpkin Face to my mom. I was born November 9, 1981. That means I had a little birthday not too long ago and it was a big one - 21!! I was born and raised on Long Island, in a town on the North Shore of the island, named Port Washington. It is a 25 minute drive and a 40 minute train ride from New York City. I am currently a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I plan to graduate with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication in the Advertising Sequence and with an English minor. Coming to Carolina forced me to leave behind my mom, Evelyn, my dad, Thomas, my sister, Katharine, and my cat, Mickey.

What brought me so far from home? I came to UNC to get a degree from one of the best schools ion the country and to play lacrosse. You can visit the Carolina women's lacrosse site and check out my profile if you want to learn more about the team or me.

I took this picture of the Statue of Liberty while working a charter on a yacht around Manhattan. Even though I have lived in New York all my life, this was actually the first time I saw the Statue of Liberty first hand, not 4 miles away while driving over the Verrazano Bridge or something.
