If you're wondering why I chose a compass as my background...here's the explanation. A compass serves as a guide in long journeys...and the career I plan to pursue will involve many journeys to places I never thought I'd go. When I graduate next May, I hope to find work as a television news reporter. To make it in the news business, you must be willing to move anywhere...and your first job is often in a very small city and far away from home. You usually spend a few years at that first job...and while you're there, you work on improving your reporting skills and learning as much about "the business" as you can. Most folks don't stay at that first job more than three years, and then it's off to a somewhat bigger city...and maybe someday to one of the networks. So...to help me on my long journey around the country, I will always keep a compass with me, and it will serve as one of my guides. I was born on Thursday, October 1, 1981, and it's like the old saying goes..."Thursday's child has far to go."
