For my dissertation research, I studied both species of cricket frogs, Acris crepitans and A. gryllus,
in North Carolina. I examined variation in the acoustic signals of these species
to determine the degree of sympatry and reproductive isolation between them
and to assess the role of vocalizations in species recognition.
