M. Katherine Cloud is a PH.D. candidate in the Economics Department at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Katherine’s research interests are wide and focus primarily on health and labor economic issues. She plans to pursue an academic career as an economist at a research university.
She anticipates that her research will focus on the health behaviors of individuals and the effects of these behaviors on other life choices regarding, for example, productivity, employment, or family responsibilities. Additionally, Katherine intends to continue research on issues surrounding mental health and mental health policy.
Prior to her doctorate work, Katherine earned her BBA from the University of Georgia’s Honors Program with a minor in the French language. She received her Masters of Science in Economics from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Additionally, Katherine has studied Economics at the London School of Economics and the French Language at the Institute de Touraine in Tours, France.
