Hey there! To all those who don't know me, my name is Molly Cottrell and this is my web site! I was born on December 30, 1980 (which makes me one of those misunderstood capricorns) in Boone, North Carolina. Eagerly awaiting to spread my wings and fly from the familiar life of the small town I decided to accept admission to attend the big crazy world of Chapel Hill. And here I am...
To get the basics out of the way, I am a Junior Public Relations major in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Talk about a mouth full! As far as where I want to go after graduation....well, I'm still looking for that piece of direction. Any suggestions?
My family is just a bunch of Boonies! Everyone on both my mom and dad's side of the family is native to the High Country. My dad, David, is Vice President of a local bank in Boone called Appalachian First. My mom, Kathy, is an elementary school teacher at Hardin Park, my old elementary school. Although I decided to leave home for college, my younger sister, Betsy, opted to go to Appalachian State University and stay in the area. My little brother, Sam, is in 8th grade and is an incredible golfer!

What? You want more? Here are some favorites of mine:
*First and foremost, I am a Beronie. To those of you who know what that is, may you be blessed. For those who don't....it's your job to find out!
*Music is my life! I have been singing in front of audiences since I was 3 years old! Ever since then, I have been bitten by the music bug. My dream? To one day move to Nashville and be either a famous Christian or Country singer. Just wait...it'll happen!
* While attending UNC, I've met many new faces and been invovled in several campus organizations. My favorite? Definitely Lighter Shade of Blue! LSOB is a show choir with 14 of the best performers this campus has ever seen...and 14 of the best friends I have!
* I am a Disney nut! Growing up, I was always a different Disney Princess for the day. My favorite Disney movie? The Little Mermaid of course!
*On Wednesday nights you can find me glued to Dawson's Creek. Although ashamed to admit it, I have watched the series from day one.
*Recently, after reading Arthur Golden's novel, "Memoirs of a Geisha" I have become obsessed with the life of the geisha. You'll find out more about geisha on my research page.
*My favorite singer is Nichole Nordeman. She is a contemporary christian singer and her lyrics and music are absolutely incredible! She has inspired my own meager attempt at writing with the simplicity and beauty in her music. My favorite song..."Rolling River God"
*Another great artist for those who haven't heard of him yet is John Mayer! He's fairly new to the pop music scene and he's amazing!
*My favorite promise: "And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." ~Matthew 28:20
*Favorite song: "The Promise" Tracy Chapman....it holds a special meaning with a very special person, and I hope it always will.
